Flashing Bulbs and Flashy Moves

Last night, the ladies came out in fine form! We had a photographer from the Tribune in class, and somehow, despite the inevitable awkwardness of being photographed while dancing, everyone threw down without hesitation! I saw some moves I’ve never seen before and want to see again!

I like to think that dancing with the ladies increases my feeling of being comfortable in my own skin, and this class was proof of it. Didja feel it, too? I sure hope so.

Anyway – here’s my mix (DJ Bran) for the week. We didn’t hit up a few songs at the end, so don’t be surprised if they magically appear on my next mix.

Aussie Action = a Hot, Steamy, G’Day

DJ Ozsome served us up some fine jams from the Antipodes this week! If you haven’t heard what Aussies have done for dance music, you need to rectify yoself.

And let it be known to all in class, we did not plan on having Bikram Bikram Dance Dance Party Party this week. We shall bring fans next time. It was so hot, the mirrors were fogged up, the unrefrigerated water was condensated, and were the door not ajar, I’m fairly sure the fire alarm would have gone off. Hotness of the third degree.

Hot & sassy for unexpected guests October 1oth

It was a hot one tonight. DJ Allison put together another clutch mix for our dancing legs. At one point, I even lost it and started making animal noises while twisting my head all around. If music can elicit that kind of behavior, then it’s welcome at DDPP! We had a big crowd of loyal and fresh off the boat dancers tonight. The space was tight and hot..just like we like it. Our dancing was so hot that we created a little “locker gym” smell for our unexpected guests that arrived ten minutes before our thrashing was done. Gals, if there is ever a scene to accidentally walk in on, it would be DDPP. We were quite an impressive spectacle. So much that we not only put on a show for our waiting and confused guests, but they enthusiastically asked Jenn what all this dancing was about. She smiled, handed them a flyer, and walked away. I’m sure we will see one of those angry faces turn into bliss on our dance floor one of these next times. In fact, I guarantee it. Nice job ladies. Without further ado, Allison’s mix.

So Wednesdays will continue unabated, from 6:30-8pm.

Murder on the Dancefloor

DJ Loveli made some seriously sweaty love to our ears tonight. It was fantasmic. There were moments of clapping and stomping in unison. There were moments of essential oil burning one dancer’s crotch region (they shall rename nameless). Ouch.
