“Catherine II, also known as Catherine the Great (Russian: Екатерина II Великая, Yekaterina II Velikaya; German: Katharina die Große), Empress of Russia (2 May [O.S. 21 April] 1729 – 17 November [O.S. 6 November] 1796), was the most renowned and the longest-ruling female leader of Russia, reigning from 9 July [O.S. 28 June] 1762 until her death at the age of 67. She was born in Stettin, Pomerania, Prussia as Sophie Friederike Auguste von Anhalt-Zerbst-Dornburg, and came to power following a coup d’état and the assassination of her husband, Peter III, at the end of the Seven Years’ War. Russia was revitalised under her reign, growing larger and stronger than ever and becoming recognised as one of the great powers of Europe.”
To all this, we say PISH POSH! PISH POSH…we say! Wikipedia knows NOTHING and we mean NOTHING about Catherine the great. If you have ever been to this phenomenon known as DDPP CHICAGO, you know (or you should) full well that this is Catherine The Great (aka dj SNAKE):
“A shooting star leaping through the skies like a tiger defying the laws of gravity. An American aquarium drinker. Gifted, all natural and burstin’ the seams. Can’t – can’t – can’t – can’t control her feet. Wants to see movies of her dreams. Wants to live with common people like you.”
To add to all that: all around fabulous person, den mother extraordinaire, super friend, Lady Mary Crawley look-alike, and foodie.
We know…your world has now been completely rocked & pretty sure you look like this:
Well, we had ourselves a raucous time when dj Snake came with a mix to knock our socks off…seriously whenever a dj says the following, “there is one weird song in this mix & I put it in there just to see how you all would dance to it”, you know you are in for a good time. By weird, she totally meant AWESOME! All the ladies in the house completely lost their shit to that Skrillex song.
Can you blame them? Also ala Snakes style…handclaps, pop music, & mashups. Check out the playlist:
Dj Snake always makes us live in a world of Fascination during her 60 minute playlists. She makes us feel it & live on it…it’s just what she does & she does ever so well.
OH and lest we forget…there was one Sunday not so long ago where the dj up to bat had to cancel (hey, life happens) and who should do us a solid? That’s right dj Snake came to the rescue…she came armed with a playlist full of hits from the previous Sundays of the year and it was pure magic (you ladies know how to rock out!)…check it out:
TOLD YA….Catherine the GREAT!
